Thanks. This idea came to me because when you talk to people about immortality, the brain is always cited as a single-point-of-failure that can't be replaced. Usually people want to say that uploading to a computer is a good option, but that strikes me the same as a Star Trek transporter. If at some point in time you are in your organic brain, and also in a computer, and there are 2 of you, doesn't that really mean that you have made a copy of yourself, not uploaded the 'real' you?
